Gardner Designing allergy free home interiors for allergy sufferers - interior design ideas to alleviate the sniffles.Dust mites and chemicals are a common cause of allergies, so in new house designs, install eco-friendly, chemical free products that do not give off formaldehyde gases. Hardwood flooring instead of carpet will reduce the sneezes considerably. It is also a more attractive addition to the interior decor. If you want carpet, install pure wool carpeting with no chemical dyes or stain guard applied to it. For easy cleaning, design with hard surfaces such as tile and laminates where dirt can be easily wiped with a damp cloth. For allergy free home living, consider installing a vacuuflow system, which will directly vent dust outside. Purchase certified organic cotton or wool mattresses that do not have chemical foams. For the bedroom decor, think about using cotton blankets, bedding and sheets with hypoallergenic, anti-microbial features that are resistant to dust mites. Allergy free living and decorating does not mean a completely sterile environment; the interior decor can still be just as attractive with non-toxic paints, with zero VOC's(volatile organic chemicals). These non-toxic products are readily available at online decorating stores specializing in non-toxic products for allergen free living. Apply these ideas to new house designs to provide some relief for allergy symptoms. You cannot make a home totally allergen free but more bearable by following some of these steps.
